Antonio Brufau, presidente de Repsol, mejor empresario del año

El presidente ejecutivo de Repsol, Antonio Brufau, recibió hoy el premio Empresario del Año 2010 otorgado por la Federación de Cámaras de Comercio Españolas (FEDECOM) en Europa, que entregó el Secretario de Estado de Comercio Exterior, Alfredo Bonet.
En la primera edición de este galardón, que reconoce la labor realizada por empresarios para fomentar la empresa española en el exterior participaron, entre otros, el Presidente de FEDECOM y Presidente de la Cámara Oficial de Comercio Española en Italia, D. Rosendo Candela y el Director General de Comercio e Inversiones, D. José Carlos García de Quevedo Ruiz.
El reconocimiento de FEDECOM a la labor de Antonio Brufau refleja la creciente actividad del grupo Repsol en el exterior, con una destacada presencia en países de la OCDE, enmarcada en su Plan Esstratégico. Los recientes e importantes descubrimientos y acuerdos alcanzados por la compañía han destacado a la hora de su reconocimiento como mejor empresario del año.
Antonio Brufau agradeció el reconocimiento de la federación de cámaras y señalo que “la internacionalización de Repsol es fruto del talento y del esfuerzo de un equipo de personas al que me honra representar y que está integrado por más de 70 nacionalidades alrededor del mundo”.
Repsol mantiene actividades en más de 30 países en los cinco continentes que van desde la exploración y producción de hidrocarburos a la venta de productos del petróleo y lubricantes. De los más de 40.000 trabajadores que emplea Repsol, más de la mitad se encuentra fuera de España. Repsol es una de las 10 mayores petroleras privadas del mudo y la mayor de América Latina en activos.
El galardón se suma al reconocimiento otorgado el pasado mes de diciembre al presidente ejecutivo de Repsol como Líder Empresarial Global, entregado por la Cámara de Comercio de Estados Unidos en España (AmchamSpain). Este galardón reconoce la labor internacional de dirigentes empresariales, españoles o estadounidenses, que hayan contribuido de manera señalada a una globalización económica responsable.

Antonio Brufau named Entrepreneur of the Year

Repsol Chairman, Antonio Brufau, was granted the 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year award by the Federation of Spanish Chambers of Commerce in Europe (FEDECOM). He received the award from the Secretary General for Trade, Alfredo Bonet.
In its first edition this year, the award rewards the efforts of employers to encourage the internationalisation of Spanish companies. Guests included FEDECOM President and Spanish Chamber of Commerce President in Italy, Mr. Rosendo Candela and the Director General for Trade and Investment Mr. Jose Carlos Garcia de Quevedo Ruiz.
FEDECOM’s award reflects Antonio Brufau’s stewardship of the increasing activity of the Repsol Group outside Spain, with a strong presence in OECD countries, which is set out in the company’s strategic plan. The recent important discoveries and agreements made by the company have all contributed to the recognition of Antonio Brufau as entrepreneur of the year.
Antonio Brufau expressed his gratitude for this recognition from the Federation of Chambers and highlighted that "the internationalisation of Repsol is a result of the talent and effort of a team of people made up of more than 70 nationalities from all over the world, whom I am honoured to represent".
Repsol operates in more than 30 countries on five continents ranging from exploration and production of hydrocarbons to the sale of oil products and lubricants. Of the more than 40,000 people employed by Repsol, more than half work outside Spain. Repsol is one of the 10 largest private oil companies in the world and the largest in Latin America in terms of assets.
This award adds to Antonio Brufau’s Global Business Leader Award from the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain (AmchamSpain), which rewards Spanish and American leaders who have made an outstanding contribution to international business and responsible economic globalisation.
Federation of Spanish Chambers of Commerce in Europe
The Federation of Spanish Chambers of Commerce in Europe is an international non-profit organization, founded in 1996, that brings together the Chambers of Commerce of Spain established in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Britain, Italy, Portugal and Switzerland. Since June 2002, FEDECOM is also part of the Spanish Chambers of Commerce in Tangier and Casablanca.
Its main objective is to accurately track the initiatives of the European Union with a direct impact on the world of business and the Chambers of Commerce of Spain in Europe.
